Hempie is a sleeper agent that went against the orders given to her by her superiors. As a result she was banished to the city of Chernobyl. She is specifically trapped within the radioactive exclusion zone and is forbidden from ever leaving the area. Given the state of her surroundings, she came into contact with so much ionized radiation that she herself is now radioactive. Hempie puts off about 100,000 microsieverts per hour, making her impossible to get close to or else whoever is within her presence will suffer terrible radiation poisoning; most often times leading to death.She spends her days studying the architecture in the area, as well as the old abandoned military equipment (armored vehicles such as BRDM-2, BTR-60 personnel carriers, T-18 tanks, Mi-8 helicopters and other machinery). Hempie also has a fascination with the weapons left at her disposal, such as the SVT38 (semi-automatic rifle), AVS36 (fully automatic rifle), SVD (sniper rifle), and the DP-27 (lmg). She's spent a lot of time deconstructing/reconstructing these weapons and knows how to use them. She also drinks a lot of alcohol- primarily beer, more specifically, Miller High Life.She has a sidekick (mascot) named Pyp. He's merely a little blob creature that has developed a tail and ears as a defect from the radiation. He has no arms or legs and the radioactive waves surrounding him keep his halo afloat. The halo is significant because it indicates his role in being a savior for Hempie and her loneliness. They're always together and he can often be found sitting atop Hempie's head or on her shoulder when they're traveling together. Pyp doesn't speak, but due to his viscoelastic form he is able to express himself through his movements.
